Welcome to Going Beyond ‘Auto’ | Weekend Photography Experience blog.
This site has been created for those of you who own or have access to a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) or mirrorless camera, but have found it a little difficult or daunting to attempt taking photographs with your camera not set on ‘Auto’. Never fear! Most of us use the ‘Auto’ setting, and with the technology placed in most cameras – chances are, your photographs look great. However, going beyond the ‘Auto’ setting will enable you to greater control of what your camera is capable of, and allow you to also take your skill level beyond what you thought you might be capable of.
If you need to look at or download the Owner’s Manual, find out the Specifications, or read a Third-Pary review about a particular DSLR or Mirrorless camera, be sure to click on the manufacturer of the camera you want to know more about, in the dropdown menu, under “Going Beyond ‘Auto’ above. From there you will be provided with links for each manufacturer’s DSLR and Mirrorless camera bodies going back several years. Each manufacturer’s page also has a link to their respective website, and a link to help you understand or think through using the Priority, Shutter, Aperture, and Manual capture modes on your camera.
If you would like to join us for the next Going Beyond ‘Auto’ | Weekend Photography Experience, email me to start a conversation about what you and your group would like to learn or even have a refresher in. Looking forward to getting to know you, and for the opportunity to take some great photos together.
More than anything, we hope this site provides you with a greater desire to just get out there and truly enjoy capturing the images you enjoy most!
